There is a useful video featuring Jeff Schewe on Luminous Landscape which shows how to use the soft proofing feature in Lightroom. For anyone who uses Lightroom, it is a worthwhile watch whether you make your own prints or send images off. As Jeff Schewe states, correct use of soft proofing will save you time and money. It goes without saying, of course, that a good quality profiled monitor is essential and if employing a third party printing company you will need the relevant profile for each combination of the printer and paper they use.

Sadly whatever video plugin they are using fails to run at work. I'd be interested since I have a boatload of printing to do to prepare for next season.

It's a standard MP4, so you should be able to watch it at home.
