One comment in this bit of nonsense does ring true, though. Sometimes the longer side in the traditional 3:2 ratio which is used in many cameras is just a bit too long, especially when rotated into the vertical portrait aspect. I routinely crop my vertical images to 4:3 which is often more visually pleasing. An uncropped image can otherwise appear to be just slightly too thin.
