Unsurprisingly, given that the Noctilux 75 f/1.25 is made by Leica, very well. DPReview has just reviewed it and was suitably impressed. When they managed to nail focus wide open, that is.

The review does not shy away from saying that this is a bonkers lens. In so many ways it is an impractical proposition, but it is fun to see what it can do. Anyone who wishes to achieve the effect from the contrast between in focus and out of focus areas when shooting wide open could probably achieve something similar with one of the various 85 f/1.4 lenses which are around. And for a lot less money. But that is not really the point, is it?
So How Does a £10k Lens Perform?
