If novelty is one of the things you value in photography, this new lens is just what you need. It is a 35 mm f/2.7 pancake lens which is just 7mm thin (the term thickness hardly seems relevant in this context). It is available on a Kickstarter campaign and will cost a mere €1,199. Despite receiving publicity on DPReview and elsewhere, at the time of writing it has garnered just four backers. That is sufficient to reach the relatively modest target so presumably the lens will be produced. Buyers can be assured that they are extremely unlikely to encounter anyone else using the same lens. It could be one of the smallest (in every sense) clubs in the world.
