A standard practice for camera launches these days is the "leak". Often it is the "unauthorised" publication containing a few tantalising details on one of the company's foreign language websites which is promptly pulled once it is spotted by the Internet masses. This is a favoured strategy for Canon, with Chinese the language of choice since most will need a service such as Google translate to read it. The inevitable mangling of the original adds to the intrigue and gives room for speculation to those who follow these things. Other companies are becoming more blatant and recently there was a "leaked " video about an as yet unannounced Olympus camera with an "engineer" giving just enough information to provoke interest without detracting from the formal announcement
DPReview has complained about this in the past. It knows what is happening but NDAs make it impossible for them to say anything ahead of the official release. Instead, it seems to be fighting back by reporting the rumours. Can anyone be in any doubt that it would have published this article unless it knew that this new camera really is on the way? Who knows, it might even be with the connivance of the manufacturer. Being featured on DPReview is a massive free publicity boost.

Re: Leaks
The final sentence dispels any illusion of doubt - "If the X-A1 becomes a reality, you can be sure that we'll be carrying full details, including official images and specs when the time comes. Watch this space."
The only thing they could have appended to make it more blatant would be "nudge nudge wink wink".

Re: Leaks
As you say, very heavily signposted. I might be wrong, but I cannot recall DPReview (which is not a rumours site) doing anything as blatant as this before.
