The RPS has opened up submissions for their 157th Exhibition, this year it's digital only (though their website still has "print" plastered all over it)
http://rps-international.org/
£20 for non-RPS members, £15 for members and you can submit a set of up to four images. No theme or link necessary, all images are judged in isolation and there are no categories, just one giant photo melting pot.

Re: RPS 157th Exhibition
If you can find them, would look at previous winning entries to decide whether this is the competition for you. This the the RPS' premier exhibition, yet I cannot find anything about the results of previous contests on its website. Does it have anything to hide? The type of shot selected for the top honours are rarely those which would do well in club competitions and usually leave me wondering about their merits. The RPS claims that it does not give the judges any direction, although it has the option to choose those whom it knows will go for the type of photo it wants. For me, the members exhibition usually has a better range of images.
Maybe I'll see if I have something among the many rejects on my hard drive that might be suitable.

Re: RPS 157th Exhibition
Weirdly, I can find a link to the 156th exhibition on my phone but not on a desktop. I've found the 155th here -

will have a more detailed look later but if it's all "gritty" portraits (read - boring) and "creative" images (read - overly photoshopped tosh) I'll give it a miss. But having said that, it offers a cash prize
Personally I prefer exhibitions that don't feature "club photography" style shots as I often wonder about their merits

Re: RPS 157th Exhibition
This is the winning entry from that exhibition which won the £10k prize. I suspect that most camera club judges would have wanted to see the deer's head in focus, especially as it features in the title.

Should everything have been in focus? Or if not, would it have been better to have had the deer sharp and the girl out of focus?
