Annual Update

Adobe has announced the annual update of its Elements software, both Photoshop and Premiere. As usual, the emphasis is on introducing new automated tools which, for Photoshop at least, add little for those who want to do just basic adjustments and do not require compositing functionality. Everything that is really needed has been there since version 9, when Curves and Layer Masks were included for the first time. Version 11 had the new Raw conversion engine, but anyone wanting to get the most out of a Raw file has always been better off using the full version as found in Lightroom or Photoshop CS/CC.

Judging by the numbering of thesenew versions, Adobe is clearly not superstitious.
