An interesting concept.
I have a question? What constitutes a ‘Portrait’?
I was under the impression that a ‘Portrait’ could be anything down to waist level.
The reason I am asking is that I am putting some thoughts down about doing a number of projects for next year. One of them would be ‘Portrait’.

Re: The Swap
Thats a really interesting idea. It also strikes me as something our club could do internally as well. We could find willing participants and then randomly(?) pair them together to take portraits of each other.
From memory we dont get many portraits in the DPI and print competitions but I recall a B&W portrait in this weeks DPI that got top marks and its a chance to expand our portfolios. Id be the first to say I dont like being in front of the camera but would happily pose for another member and would be excited to see the result.

I had the same thought Paul Give people a few months to get together and do the portraits, then dedicate a members' evening to sharing the results, talk about how we each decided to portray our partner and the challenges of achieving what was in our minds eye etc.

Re: The Swap
We have a portrait session coming up for the Members' Evening on 21 January 2015. One option would be to pair up and take shots of each other.
