Using Cheap Lenses

Postby Mike Farley » Mon 29 Jun 2015, 09:42

For anyone who thinks that it is necessary to spend a lot of money for a lens which gives sharp results, here's a post from Kirk Tuck showing what he achieved with a $125 telephoto zoom. His final comment says everything you really need to know; he's keeping it.

My own inexpensive MFT telephoto zoom is a Panasonic 45-200. According to DxOMark it's at the wrong end of the quality scale, but in a recent issue of Amateur Photographer I was surprised to see from a "What's in the Bag" article that top pro Jeremy Walker has one. That's good enough for me, not that I previously had any doubts.
