Digital Projector
Re: Digital Projector
I was impressed with the resolution of the new projector - it's a vast improvement on the old one. I thought my images were a little brighter than I expected, although not overly so.

Thanks for the feedback, Rose. I have looked at your images on my calibrated monitor and they seem to be more or less in line with what I remember from last night, bearing in mind that a couple of them had large areas of darker tones. It is a feature of all digital projectors that shadow areas tend to be between half a stop to a stop brighter than they appear on a computer screen, although I think it is relatively well controlled on ours. It might be something for which you will need to make allowances when considering future submissions.

Thanks Mike. It's useful information which I'll bear in mind when preparing for the next round of the DPI competition. As for calibration, that will have to wait a little longer until I can get a Spyder (I don't fancy the hassle you've had with your Munki!).

If you are using a Mac, there should be some rudimentary calibration tools built in. Spyders are made by a privately owned company whereas X-Rite has had a number of owners and is currently in an investment company's portfolio. While the ColorMunki hardware is good, I do not get the impression that X-Rite really care that deeply about the customer experience.
