A while back I proposed something I called "LightroomAlongaMike" for a member's evening or one of Tom's "howto" sessions held on a day which is not a club night. The idea is to let attendees have a Raw file a few days in advance so that they can manipulate it in step with me as I demonstrate my own processing. As an option, people could show their own versions of the final image created beforehand, using Lightroom or anything else. That would allow for a discussion about variations in approach and personal tastes when processing photos.
For people to get the fullest benefit, it does assume that everyone has Lightroom or the full version of Photoshop, which share the Adobe Camera Raw processing engine. The local adjustments do allow for dodging and burning and I rarely find that I need to venture into Photoshop as Lightroom has a sufficient range of adjustments for most purposes. At the time, my idea did not get much traction, but the offer is still there if anyone is interested. It does not have to be held at the church as I can host four or five people at my house if there are not many takers.
