The issue of Amateur Photographer on sale from tomorrow (24 June) includes an "Improve Your Photography" video DVD which has a number of useful hints and tips from various well known figures in photography. There is also an opportunity to obtain a free download of Michael Freeman's book "The Photographer's Story". AP costs 5p short of £3 these days, but on this occasion there is more than enough on offer to justify a purchase.

Seems that I am not the only person experiencing problems downloading the "free" book. Hopefully this will get resolved soon as Michael Freeman's earlier books have always been informative reads.

There appears to be a partial fix, although it still does not work as originally stated in the insert which came with the mag. Follow the forum link I have posted to the AP forum to see the update.

I have now successfully downloaded the book. Canny observers will see that AP has published details of how to obtain the download without having to purchase the magazine to obtain the magazine first. :D

I too have done so :)

Although in this case it looks like an error on AP's part I have wondered about this chap's books before so if this reads well then I will certainly be looking at his other work.

Everything else he has written in "The Photographer's" series has been worthwhile. Based on the sample which came with this week's AP, the new DVD which accompanies "The Photographer's Eye" looks to be informative as well.
