Photography on the Telly

OK, I found this quite by chance as I was looking for something else, as I'll reveal in a minute. If you go to around 16:00 on the iPlayer replay of this week's Countryfile, there is an eight minute segment about photography. Fortunately davidc will not be able to see it out in Singapore as the photographer featured in it advocates use of the rule of thirds. 
There are also details of how to enter Countryfile's photography competition with a couple of prizes of photography gear up for grabs.

The real reason why I was looking at Countryfile can be seen if you scroll down to the section about a recent archaeological find in the Peak District which in the programme commences immediately after the photography bit at around 24:00. Normally the photography section would be of most interest, even if it is aimed the less experienced, but not this time. That the archaeologist from the British Museum has the same surname as me is no coincidence whatsover as she shares 50% of my genes. The segment starts at 24:00 and Julia appears at approximately 27:50.
You will note in the blurb that it says my daughter is at the British Museum, whereas in the programme it talks about her being at the University of Leicester. This is not the BBC getting its facts mixed up, but in actuality being very much on the ball. At the beginning of this month Julia left Leicester to return to the BM as Curator of the Iron Age. In September 2015 the museum is holding a major exhibition about the Celts and Julia was specifically recruited to curate it.*
It looks as though this edition of Countryfile will be available on iPlayer until this Saturday, 12 July.
* That's the proud dad bit over and done with, promise.
