Dartmoor Websites

Following on from my talk at Chairman's Evening about my experiences of shooting landscape photography on Dartmoor, these are the main websites I looked at beforehand to get an idea of suitable locations.

I also used Google Images to look at shots, but not flickr which tends to give a lot of indifferent results and a lot of effort is needed to winnow out the chaff. With Google, if you see an image you like, it is straightforward to click through to the website where it is hosted to see if there is any more information.

The basic flickr search is definitely somewhat random. The search sorted by Interestingness is generally a lot better.

https://www.flickr.com/search/?text=dar ... gness-desc

Beware though, there are a few... peculiar.... images in there, potentially not safe for work and showing the even the Interestingness algorithm can get things wrong :)

Thanks, Dave. I had not seen the "Interestingness" filter before, although admittedly I am not that into flickr and its functions. I agree that while the filter does return a better set of images, not all the locations are given which does reduce its usefulness a tad. Still, another useful resource, though on balance I still prefer Google Images with its links to websites.
