Free Capture One Express for Sony

For anyone shooting Raw with a Sony camera, this will definitely be of interest. Capture One is one of the best Raw converters around, so be able able to use the latest Express version free of charge has to be worthwhile. I have linked to Thom Hogan's report of this offer as it contains more information than on the Phase One's website.

The Express version of Capture One has been phased out by Phase One and only the full version of the software will be available from now on, which could well explain why the Sony only software is being offered free of charge. I suspect that there is a commercial arrangement with Sony into which Phase One has entered on the basis that it will not affect future sales. It might also mean that future Sony cameras will not be supported by the free software.
