UK photo copyright change sparks protests

Interesting article. In a nutshell, the proposal is to change legislation so that if the copyright owner of an item can't be found, the image can be used freely without payment.

Doesn't define how hard one needs to search to establish who the owner is so effectively people are up in arms because people will simply take photos/music if they claim they don't know who the owner is.

I am not sure how this fits with the new process which makes it easier to claim against those who breach an owner's copyright.
