It's that man, Ming Thein again, this time depicting the arcjtecture of our great city in black and white.

Re: And Now In Mono
Again not impressed and that gherkin/church one is quite a cliched shot now.
Most aren't even level, let alone perspective corrected, and even if it's a deliberate artistic choice it's massively distracting.
To put my money where my mouth is though, I'm going to do a mini-project on the architecture of Singapore myself. I'll post mine alongside Ming's and you guys can be the judge. I had an idea for it anyway but seeing his work crystallised the idea

The problem with cliches is that unless you are familiar with them, they are new to you the first time you see them. As a visitor to our city, MT is looking at the place through fresh eyes. Sometimes that can work out well as someone who is unfamiliar with a location can spot something which locals take for granted and overlook.

That's the main reason why I am posting these links - provide inspiration for others to make their own shots and do better. I look forward to seeing your results.

MT also writes equipment reviews, but says that is not his primary mission which is commercial photography. The irony is that his reviews are often better than the non commercial work which he posts.
He is now offering to do custom reviews, which together with his opening comments in the article, suggests that he is looking for ways of supplementing his income from paid for assignments. They cannot be that numerous if he really does spend as much time each day working on his website as he claims.
