This the first hands on report I have seen for the Samsung NX1 (yet another Lula link ) and based on what Michael Reichmann says, it appears to be the camera which the Canon 7DII should have been and at a much lower price to boot. Much will depend on what the full reviews say and how quickly Samsung can introduce a full range of lenses, but it looks promising. Unlike other manufacturers, Samsung does not appear to have hobbled the camera by omitting features simply to have a near identical "update" in a year or so's time. Think of the Sony RX100 series or the Panasonic GM1 morphing into the GM5, as recent examples. What is the betting that a Panasonic LX100 with a tilting touch screen will appear next year?
Speaking for myself, if the Olympus E-M1 had the continuous AF capability of the NX1, it would have merited far more serious consideration to replace my Canon DSLR kit. As it is, I will continue to monitor developments before making any decisions.

Re: Samsung NX1
DPReview has produced a video showing a real life shooting experience with the NX1. Once you get past the introduction, where I thought this might be a Samsung sponsored production, the capabilities of the camera are put to the test in less than ideal conditions. Mainly it's good news for Samsung although the camera is not without some issues, but DPReview reckons most if not all of these can be fixed in firmware. Life just got interesting for the other big players out there, which can only be to the advantage of the consumer.
