Most interviews with the senior executives of camera manufacturers conducted at shows tend to be guarded affairs, but this one with Fujifilm is more candid than most. The interviewee, Toshihisa Iida, talks about what other companies such as Canon have achieved, for one thing. I certainly did not not expect to see praise for Olympus' lenses from a direct competitor, for example. What was most of interest to me was that Iida's claims that mirrorless cameras will be as capable as DSLRs within the next two to three years, which presumably includes AF. That is the Achilles heel of every current system and one of the areas where Fuji has always been weak since the launch of the X-system. What was not discussed were improvements to processing Raw files from the X-Trans sensor, which has proved problemmatic for third party developers and I would liked to have learnt Fujifilm's views.
