Having the ability to use them is great, definitely. Depending on the quality loss of course, has there been any review showing image quality with the 3rd party adaptor yet? However, if you are going to use SLR glass and lose a large % of the weight saving, why not just get the full quality benefit and use a full frame camera?
My view is that it could be useful especially with longer lenses, but that could be mitigated by AF performance. The Canon lens is designed for phase detect AF whereas the m43 will mainly be using contrast detect and the two are designed to function in different ways. Slower AF would rule out action shots in the main, although it could be a useful addition as a cheaper alternative to a new lens for someone who already has suitable Canon lenses and is only looking for occasional use. I am not sure about loss of image quality, but m43 lenses are designed to be telecentric so a telephoto lens should work well, especially as only a comparatively small part of the image circle would be used. Whilst the new Olympus m43 pro lenses are large compared to the slower budget lenses, they are still smaller than their full frame equivalents.
The adapter does not become available until next month, so there are probably no reviews yet.
