Back to the 50s?

I saw the announcement, Canon launches three new cameras, and thought ho, hum, yawn. Then curiosity got the better of me and I had a quick peak. Doesn't the G5 X look like something that could have been designed in the 1950s? Maybe the X stands for eXakta.
