The guys at LensRentals have been at it again and have disassembled Canon's latest prime lens, which has continued the recent trend of Canon's products being exceptionally well constructed. The term "over engineered" is used more than once, together with the comment that no other manufacturer is achieving anything like this standard. It's an expensive lens which costs considerably more than the one it replaces, but you can see where the money has gone. As ever, it is intriguing to see what is going on under the covers.
