Camera Gear Rental By Subscription

I found this on PetaPixel, an intriguing idea offering unlimited camera gear rentals for a fixed monthly fee. There are a lot of unanswered questions, such as is it really possible to get a top spec camera for a modest subscription and what about lenses? Not that it matters for the moment, as it will only be available in the US initially, albeit there are plans to introduce the service elsewhere longer term.
