Coinciding with my comments on the SPA image Review thread about the lower standard of photography in the south east of the country compared to the rest of te UK, Mike Johnston has written a couple of blog articles about the current trends in colour photography. Essentially it boils down to the question he asks "Do you want a photograph to transform reality? Or do you want it to be a likeness of reality?" From what I can see, so far it seems to be the former which is winning out even on otherwise straight images and that applies whether the image is colour or monochrome.

I would have thought that this would be a subject of interest to everyone. Maybe it got lost in the other thread and people did not read it?
