Do You Have Flings?

Thom Hogan assigns camera owners to several different categories. He does not list them all, but Switchers, Samplers and Last Camera Syndrome cover a lot of options for those who change things around and now he adds Flings. He does not stay, but Stayers is probably how he would describe those who stick with a single brand for their main camera.

For a long time I was a Stayer, using mainly Canon DSLRs until I heard the siren call of mirrorless which has tempted me into Sampling. As I have written here before, DSLRs still do some things better, so I am not yet a Switcher. One day I tell myself, one day. Given the capabilities of modern digital cameras it will then be Last Camera Syndrome for me unless the manufacturers come out with something really radical. Seeing some of the developments which are afoot, I do not rule that out. As for Flings, I hope that when I do Switch it will be a more considered decision than that.
