Thom Hogan assesses what Nikon does well and where it falls short. While he writes specifically about Nikon, I suspect what he says about reaching out to the consumer market could apply equally to other manufacturers in an era of falling sales.

Mike Johnston has weighed in with his own thoughts on Thom Hogan's article over at The Online Photographer. It is worth readng, if only for Eamon Hickey's featured comment which is illuminating in itself. Out of all the camera manufacturers, only Canon and Nikon make money. Should we be worried?
