One approach. Does anyone have other approaches? As someone who generally shoots individual images, I'd love to hear them.

Re: Project Based Photography
I think I lean closer to the project approach rather than individual images, albeit not quite the project approach the blog guy suggests. (His approach is interesting and I might give it a go sometime).
In the past, individual images have tended to have been taken for a "how do I shoot that" kind of purpose. I tend to choose projects because for me they inspire more creative thinking and tend to hold my motivation to get out and shoot.
Interesting timing too as I'm working on a blog post of my own about shooting projects & motivation.

Re: Project Based Photography
I tend to like projects because 1 photo doesn't do the subject justice. The best time in club photography is when we have the annual exhibition, we then have a reason for doing them. I have quite a few in line for it and i choose which i consider the best over the year, or two. I have hundreds of trees in my portfolios and am forever adding to them, especially old or stunted or misshapen ones.
Richmond is particularly auspicious, Sherwood forest, Epping forest, and lone trees in fields, wonderful.
Buildings of course, hundreds of them.
Anyway you get the idea. In the end I end up making slideshows of them, and putting them to music. Great fun.
Good luck with trying your next project.
