If the narrator's diction at the end of this somewhat OTT video celebrating Nikon's 100th anniversary is to be believed, it is pronouced "nee-con".

On a recent trip to the USA someone actually asked if I wanted mashed "poh-tah-toe". They do things funny over there.
One podcaster I listen to calls it "Nye-con", and most people I know call it "Nick-on". Usually my pronunciation rhymes with "rap".
