The Camera Museum

Not so long ago, the Aperture camera shop in Museum Street was a rather dingy place. Aside from secondhand camera gear, it had a somewhat cramped and uninviting cafe attached. Today, it has been transformed. It has become a large cafe with a small camera shop at the back which specialises in Hasselblads from the film era. Which probably tells you all you ned to know about the profitablity of the hospitality trade compared to selling equipment. There is also a free musuem in the basement with a large display of now antiquated film cameras. I can remember when many of the models on show were being sold new. They are the legacy of a deceased collector and it took two vehicles to transport what he had amassed over the years to the museum. It is worth a quick visit if in the area.
