I've got an HP colour printer that I've not used in years. Trying to resuscitate it, the ink is not flowing. I've tried the self clean options and replaced the cartridges but this hasn't made a difference. Anyone any ideas? It's an HP Photosmart D7160

It is almost certainly a blocked printhead due to long dried out ink. Inkjets do not take kindly to being left inactive for extended periods. There might be methods of resurrecting it but usually the solution is a new printhead. Even if the parts are available, most likely it will not be an economic repair. Very few printers are designed to have user replaceable heads. As ever with these types of problems, Google is your friend if there is a readily available solution. It is rare these days that someone has not encountered a similar issue and documented the fix.

Of course! Google and YouTube it. Will do.
