No More Antelope Canyon Photography Tours

One of the best known photography locations in the world, Antelope Canyon has decided to stop running tours specifically for photographers. The last one will run on 20 December*, after which the canyon can only be visited in larger groups which do not cater for the needs of photographers. Bruce Barnbaum claims to have discovered Antelope Canyon in 1980**, since when it has dramatically increased in popularity. That, it seems, has led to the decision as it was becoming more difficult to run both the normal and photographic tours alongside each other.

** Barnbaum's monochrome images are definitely among the earliest taken at the canyon. However, 1980 was also the same year he "discovered" the photographic potential of English cathedrals. Just saying.
