What size for Facebook pics?

Anyone know what size to use for photos for FB pages. I've tried making the longest edge 200px but it comes out very pixelated. So, I tried 500px but the quality is still poor. Anyone any ideas? I saved at 300dpi and maximum quality

Since I have no intention of ever uploading my images to Facebook, I am in no real to comment but you might find this article useful. Facebook's compression of images provokes regular adverse comment, but the write-up seems to be comprehensive in working with it to obtain the optimum results.
