Lens Aberrations Explained

There is a useful article on Phillip Reeve's website which documents issues which can occur with lenses and the resolution, where it exists. Since all lens design is subject to the laws of physics, everything is a compromise which seeks to achieve a balance between the various problems that occur. One such compromise being cost, of course. This might be helpful to understand what the author is saying next time you read a lens review.
