I have not heard of "Color Runs" in this country, but it is something which might come across from the other side of the pond if the authorities allow it. It also seems that something occurs during at least Indian festival, namely Holi, although there might be others. If something similar does occur in this country, or someone is travelling abroad and goes to such an event, it will not do your camera gear much good. More importantly, I would be worried about the health implications of breathing in such fine dust.
