It was good to see the members attending last nigh's meeting enjoying being able to comment on, discuss and judge the images presented to them.

Thank you Mike for preparing the presentation at short notice and for leading the discussion.

You beat me to it in starting this thread, Nina! I, too, enjoyed last night's meeting and would like to add my own thanks to you and Wally for having the idea for the session and supplying some of your pictures for critique.

I'll be adding the two images of mine which were shown last night into the Image Critique section so that people can add their comments if they wish. It will also give me an opportunity to describe how I got them, with "Left Luggage" in particular having an "interesting" back story.

I should also add my congratulations to Nina and David Candlish for their winning entries in the mobile phone photography competition. What these devices can achieve and the technical quality of the images is quite remarkable.

I thought it was a really good session - the mobile part was an interesting but of fun but I enjoyed the chance to comment on other people's work and hear the rest of the room too. And well done to those brave enough to stick their images up too, I'm more than happy to contribute "discussion fodder" for future sessions too if it's needed!

I still have no idea why I stood up when you said I was 2nd, it took me by surprise somewhat and I still cringe thinking of it!

As for standing up at the end, that probably is just conditioning. We have become accustomed to going to the front to receive our awards when we win something.

Doesn't stop me feeling like an absolute pillock though!
