Mount adhesive

Though I've talked about the mount cutting aspect of mounting prints before I don't remember talking about this - what do people us to stick their prints to their mounts? I used "scrapbook glue" for some exhibitions entries and when they've been returned about half the images have warped. With gloss paper this looks horrific and ruins the impact of the image. I'm tempted to just revert to packing tape

I covered the topic in some detail in this post. When attaching normal board to the back of a mount, the adhesive I use is 3M Photo Mount. Using self adhesive backing board is an absolute nightmare, both to get the positioning right and removing air bubbles from behind the print.

Thanks, I think I'll try the latter (current) method you mention.
Not sure how I missed your reply though. Quite possibly read it on my phone when "tired and emotional"

I've just bought a mount cutter too so with luck this season won't see me raging at inanimate pieces of mountboard the night before a competition!

It was a while back and I had to do a search to find the relevant post.

I've just bought a mount cutter too so with luck this season won't see me raging at inanimate pieces of mountboard the night before a competition!

I cut my first mount by hand and vowed never again. Mount cutters are worth every single penny of their cost, IMO. Besides, anything which keeps my fingers away from sharp objects has to be a good investment.
