A photo outing with a difference

Postby Bill Yates » Tue 05 Nov 2013, 16:41

For something a bit different, Syon Park, Isleworth, is planning a special photographers' evening on Thursday 28 November (see below), giving the opportunity to explore and photograph its illuminated ‘Enchanted Woodland’ without the normal visitor crowds.

Further details of the event, which costs £!2, can be found at http://www.enchantedwoodland.com(well worth a look whether you can make it that day or not, and other dates are available for general visiting).
Bookings can be made at info@syonpark.co.ukor by phone at 020 8560 0882.

The text of a PDF accompanying the announcement says:

‘This magical, illuminated evening trail in Syon Park winds its way around the gardens and lake ending at the spectacular Great Conservatory.

An exciting range of lighting, music and special effects brings the landscape to life in a whole new way.
Syon Park, situated halfway between Central London and Heathrow Airport, is the home of the Duke of Northumberland. Set within the 200 acre park, the gardens at Syon were created as long ago as the 16th century.

In the mid-18th century the parkland was landscaped by Capability Brown to include two lakes, one of which is now a trout fishery. Today Syon has 30 acres of gardens which incorporate the Great Conservatory, Flora's Lawn and over 200 species of rare trees.

The route is about a mile long so plenty of room for photographers to spread out and capture the scenes.
Special opening for Photography Club Members on Thursday 28 November.
Pre-booked tickets only and minimum numbers required for the evening to run.’
