Sebastião Salgado: Genesis Exhibition
Re: Sebastião Salgado: Genesis Exhibition
I don't know if this is also against RPS rules or not though
Yes, David, it is very much against the RPS rules of conduct. For dead animals, etc they should not be passed off as wild and free.
The RPS Nature SIG produce a very useful leaflet for nature photographers. And the definition for nature and wildlife photography will be coordinated with PSA and FIAP with effect from 1 January 2015.

Re: Sebastião Salgado: Genesis Exhibition
It should be pointed out that while there are some exacting standards for nature photography, these do not apply outside of specialist nature competitions. That said, in general competition might view such images as nature shots and apply their own criteria. The club's own rules for its annual nature competition are also more relaxed - basically animal, vegetable and mineral are permitted, although entrants are encouraged not to depict domestic animals or cultivated plants.
