Hi Nina,
I would definitely be interested. Am happy to drive with 3 other passengers.

Well, it looks like we now have the "Famous Five".
Re: Club Outing to South Wales
As promised a couple of pictures I took in Llanvihangel Crucorney a couple of weeks ago.
Paul and Keith are you still in? Please confirm.
I will need to book our overnight stay soon but will allow you another few days to sign up.

Hi Nina,
I can see that you are looking for a seventh member and am interested. Would it be possible to cadge a lift off someone?

Re: Club Outing to South Wales
A few suggestions for things which we can see and do while we are in the area.
Llanfihangel Crucorney is at the southern end of Gospel Pass, which is the old road to Hay-on-Wye and has some very dramatic scenery along its entire length culminating in Hay Bluff at the northern end. Well worth seeing.

Just off the route is the crooked church of St Martins at Cwmyoy, its twisted features being caused by uneven collapse due to being built on ground left unstable by the last ice age.

Further north along the road are the ruins of Llanthony Priory which are very atmospheric and have a lot of photography to offer. The attached image is one of the infrared shots which I took on a visit there a couple of years ago.

No problem Tom, so far we have two people prepared to drive.
If we get more people interested we may look at accommodation suitable for a bigger group. Here is one

Admittedly more expensive but has advantages of self catering. I am happy to cook, but not wash up.
The date would have to be Monday 29th though, as Sunday is not available.
So far we have 7 people interested. If we get 11 or 12 it may be affordable.

There is an another B&B nearby in Llanfihangel Crucorney, which would save Nina from cooking if were to go self catering. It is also on a farm and according to Tripadvisor has 8 rooms, so would be able to accommodate a larger party if it is not yet fully booked. Flexible arrangements for breakfast could be an advantage if we go for an eatly morning shoot to capture the dawn light and do not get back until a bit later. It looks as though it would cost slightly more per night, though.

Tripadvisor reviews are encouraging.

Further to my last post, at that time of year sunrise is at around 07:10 and sunset is just before 19:00.
All the sun has to do is shine. All we have to do is find some locations.

I defintely would welcome going back there and seeing it in different weather conditions. If you like scenery, Gospel Pass and Hay Bluff will not disappoint, either.
