I spent a few days in South Wales recently and having found a rural location pretty much undiscovered by photographers I would like to organize a two day outing for club members
Date: Monday 29th September
Location: Llanfihangel Crucorney, nr Abergavenny NP7 8DH
Overnight stay: The Skirrid Inn ( oldest pub in Wales, haunted! )
The area abounds in photo opportunities for landscapes, ancient trees, listed abandoned farm buildings and great halls, it is really nice and not more than 3 hrs drive from Croydon.
The idea is that we would share cars. Probably early start on Monday and late return on Tuesday. Further details on request.
Mike and I are going. Who wants to join us?
Club Outing to South Wales

Further details on request
Nina
I'm interested in the trip to Wales. It might have been nicer a little earlier in the month although late September might just catch early autumn conditions!
Can you send me more details. Thanks.

Revised proposal
Hi Everyone
After discussion with some people who are interested it is now proposed that the outing is made a little longer and more relaxed with two overnight stays;
This is what we want to do
Date: Sunday 28th September - Tuesday 30th September
Location: Llanfihangel Crucorney, nr Abergavenny NP7 8DH
Overnight stay: http://www.penyclawdd.co.uk/
The area abounds in photo opportunities for landscapes, ancient trees, Grade I listed abandoned farm buildings and great halls, ancient pub reputed to be haunted and much more. It is really nice, apparently undiscovered by photographers and usually not more than 3 hrs drive from Croydon. I will post some pictures when I process them in the meantime here are some links

The idea is that we would share cars. Probably mid morning start on Sunday and return on Tuesday when we feel we are ready to go back. That way we would get Sunday evening, Monday whole day and Tuesday morning to indulge in photography and/or do whatever we wish in the area.
Accommodation is on a working livestock farm close to the village. Cost for B&B is £30 per person/night in a twin room to be shared.
I need to know who is still interested so I can book accommodation. With your response can you please indicate if you are willing/able to drive.
