The Biggin Hill Festival of Flight is back - 19th & 20th August 2017 - celebrating 100 years of Biggin Hill.

Just to throw a spanner in the works - Airbourne, the Eastbourne Air Show (celebrating it's 25th anniversary) is on 17th to 20 August.

Entry is free unless you want a seat in the stands.

I've enjoyed both.

Biggin Hill is less of a hassle to get to and I've taken some great shots (and a great many) there. On the other hand, Eastbourne has a superb vantage point at Beachy Head (which I've never used) and other attractions if you get bored with the aeroplanes!

Hi David,

I'd favour Eastbourne too, though not sure I'm free that weekend.

If the weather is favourable it's a great location, and free. Just try to get there in plenty of time parking-wise and take a long lens. Though having said that a number of the aircraft turn by the headland so can get reasonably close.
