I was at Shoreham-on-Sea on Monday as Storm Franklin blew itself out. This shot was taken with a long telephoto zoom that proved to be very difficult to hold steady with wind speeds that were probably in excess of 50 mph. The wind was catching the large lens and pushing it around. Fortunately, it was a bright day so I was able to set a fast shutter speed (also necessary to freeze the fast moving birds) and image stabilisation undoubtedly played its part as well.
