PAD 120 - Rigging

Postby Mike Farley » Fri 10 May 2013, 13:40

Day 120 and a visit to the newly restored Cutty Sark sailing ship in dry dock at Greenwich. These vessels have an amazing amount of rigging and one of the volunteers told me that it took 2 - 3 months to set it up and it is constantly having to be replaced. Traditionally the rope was tarred to make it last longer, but given the near disastrous fire of a few years ago that is not an option! The ship has three masts, but even with a wideangle lens it was not possible to include everything.
