Though I know the sensor size is appreciably smaller than even APS-C I'm surprised at the DOF on this at f4.5. Where had you focused?

It should have been on the man's hand, but now looking at the shot more closely I suspect that the point of focus is actually further away than that. The man's face is not quite sharp, although this is not apparent with a modestly sized image which has received some sharpening. This was a candid shot with the camera held away from my face as I did not want to make it apparent what I was doing, but it made everything a bit more awkward.
