My photo of the day project has not got off to a good start in 2014. Having taken a camera with me everywhere in 2013 and made sure that I used it, I have hardly taken any photos this year. On occasions when I have taken a camera with me, very often I have not felt inspired to use it. The recent wet weather is certainly partly to blame, but I do wonder if after the efforts of 2013 there is an unconscious desire for a break. It has not rained every day, even if it seems as though it has, but there have been occasions when I have wondered whether it has been worth going out to take similar shots as those I achieved last year. That was something which was a concern during my 365 project, was I exhausting the potential for images in my local area.
My 365 project yielded a number of shots with which I am pleased and which would not otherwise have been taken. The challenge now is to motivate myself to ensure that I will continue to have such opportunities.
I took this last month during a visit to Canterbury, but have ony just got around to processing it. One advantage of not doing a 365 is that it does allow an interval between taking an image and considering its potential, rather than the rush to publish when shooting every day.
