Day 5 and a problematical photo. This hazel bush in the garden flowers very early in the year and I wanted to catch it before the blooms faded. Unfortunately, it was a windy day and gloomy. OK, I did not really want sunshine and the problems with contrast it would bring, but a bit more light would have been appreciated.
I was trying to strike a balance between keeping the ISO down, the shutter speed up and having a reasonable depth of field. The latter lost out. Later on, after it was dark, I had a "doh" moment. Why had I not tried a burst of fill in flash to freeze the movement?
This project is as much about learning from my mistakes as my successes, so I'll chalk that one up to experience.
