Working at home today - thank goodness !
Just posted my latest PAD on Blipfoto: http://www.blipfoto.com/roseatkinson
Really rather plased with today's shot - I've been trying to achieve something like this for ages, and I go and do it entirely by accident ! I was watching the birds out of the kitchen window at lunchtime - loads of them today, hungry for all the peanuts they can get. I pressed the shutter as this little chap was sitting on the twig to the left... then he moved. Damn I thought. Missed him ! Then I looked at the screen and couldn't believe what I'd captured...

Saw it on Flickr, I think it's brilliant.

Re: Chasing the light
Excellent shot, Rose, especially against the light. It was definitely worthwhile working from home today!

Although I did get out this afternoon and went for a walk with my 5D to the woods at the top of my road. I took some video which I've put together into a little film - now uploaded onto YouTube:

I'm really impressed with your bird shots
Re: Chasing the light
Thanks David Not too bad considering they're all hand held and taken through the kitchen window We have some bird feeders in the Buddleia about 15 feet from the front of the house - they're really popular with the birds.

+1
You are fortunate to have the birds so close by. We do not seem to get that many around here these days, even though we have some feeders.
Re: Chasing the light
My efforts to go into the office were thwarted this morning so I'm working at home again. I spotted this icicle hanging from the awning outside our lounge and it's today's PAD. The icicle has been melting and elongating all morning so I went back at lunchtime and took some more pics... over a hundred in the space of a few minutes, trying to time the drips !
