Just a quick shot, took this on the first afternoon we landed - a storm is rolling in over the Singapore CBD and soon after the thunder & lightning started!

Glad you are still contributing to the forum David. Hope its all working out well in Singapore.

Thats a great cluster of buildings and the reflections add nice foreground interest. It looks like the dark clouds are encircling the CBD, almost like nature's vignette Presume you corrected the perspective to get all those straight verticals?

It's going good so far! I'm getting to grips with the new job and day-to-day stuff while my wife is taking time out and leading the search for a place to live. It's been quite the experience so far and the only "low" point was this past weekend... we spent 16 hours over Saturday & Sunday in effectively 40 degree heat exploring neighbourhoods and visiting condos! That was very tiring and not always that pleasant though I was quite pleased that I didn't sunburn!

The Singapore CDB is pretty iconic so you might get bored of me posting photos of it! This was a quick snap on our first day as that massive brooding cloud descended over the city. Almost the same thing happened last night, we were out viewing a condo and another massive storm hit so I think lightning might be another theme in some of my landscape shots

As for the verticals I fixed them in photoshop after processing as you say, the perspective correction tools are pretty good.

The local weather gods certainly prepared a welcome for you. It's good to hear from you and see one of your first shots from your new location. I look forward to seeing many more once you have got yourself settled in. Good luck with the search in finding a new home and I hope all will continue to go well for both of you.

Good to know you're finding your feet Dave and I am glad you are posting here. I have taken probably identical photo some years ago when last in Singapore. I remember the heat and humidity clearly still, but I am sure you will cope better than I did.

It's certainly getting easier and knowing that the current temperatures are unusually high helps the long term struggle too

We've actually adjusted to the point where we have the balcony window open now rather than sit in frigid aircon all evening which I'm sure is helping us adjust even more!

That certainly sounds like progress. I am not sure that it is entirely a good idea to be continually in an air conditioned environment.

Great shot of Singapore. Like Canary Wharf but more so!
