POTD 7 February 2015 - Swanage Pier
Unlike most piers, the one at Swanage does not go straight out into the sea, instead having a bend in the middle. It is a well known location, so I wanted to try something a bit different and shot it with a fisheye lens, hence the curvature of the sea and cliffs beyond. I have also pumped up the contrast to add to the surreal effect.

Have you got a version that corrects the horizon? Interesting view but I keep looking at the horizon :/

What I probably needed was a fisheye lens that distorts more than the one I am using, which is the Olympus m43 body cap model. There was a little bit of curvature on the lights, but this was minimal due their central placement. OTOH, the fisheye has given an unusual POV on the seats and the curvature of the sea and cliffs is the price I have paid. It's probably fiaxable in Photoshop with a bit of compositing and maybe I'll have a go if this ever looks becoming anything more than a fun shot.
