Following on from my trip to the London Wetland Centre in Barnes, Saturday (30th May) saw me at the Arundel Wetland Centre. This was a better trip than the one at Barnes as there were considerable more birds (both captive and visitors). As a comparison I took 285 photographs at Arundel compared with a Barnes total of 138. The majority are very ordinary but I managed to get some good ones.

1: Herring Gull. Unfortunately the wing was cut off at the bottom so to avoid adverse comments by judges I cut of the top as well. I might flip this picture.
I'll probably still get idiotic comments from judges though :D

2: This is some sort of grass but am unable to identify it

3: Portrait of an Emperor Goose. I flipped this picture so the bird looks into the image from the left rather than staring at the viewer from the right

A few more:

4: Nuthatch. I was pleased to get this bird. I like to try and catch a new animal each time I visit nature reserves and this time I managed to get at least three (this Nuthatch, a Collared Dove and a Reed Bunting)

5: Ragged-robin

6: Mute Swan in full retreat - it was being chased by a Black-necked Swan but was I unable to catch a reasonable shot of the chase :D Another flipped image
